When the calendar hits the end of the year, most people around the world quickly indulge into preparations for their favorite festivities i.e. Christmas and New Year. Where adults are seen busy shopping for the occasion, the children jump up in joy because for them, there is no more school for the days to come by.

As much as kids await winter holidays, the hours and weeks can feel prolonged if they’ve got nothing to do. Give them new toys and they’ll play with for a few hours, coming up to you asking for something new for entertainment. So, how can parents keep them little people engaged and busy during the winter holidays? Here are the top 10 New Year’s Eve activities to keep them busy:

1. Snack Bag

Baking can be fun and of course, every kid today loves to much on little treats. So, this New Year’s Eve, get your kids in the kitchen with you, give them cutters, prepare cookies dough and let them bake their favorite recipe.

Once done, ask them to fill snack bags with these treats and distribute amongst friends and family, wishing them a sweet year ahead!

2. Paper Plate Noise Maker

What celebration is complete without a whistle or noise maker? This New Year let your kids make their personalized noise maker which are super and easy and fun to make. All you need is a paper plate, some ribbons, glue, paint and beads.

Stick the curled ribbons inside the plate with either a tape or glue in a way that when you fold the plate, the ribbons hang out of it. Also, ask the children to paint the back of the plate, drop in some beads, fold the plate in half and glue it together. Your super affordable and easy noisemaker is ready to create some noise!

3. The Balloon Clock

Time for some popping fun! Blow up 12 balloons, write numbers on it and stick them to a wall. Nail in the clock needles, start the count down with popping the balloons until the clock hits 12!

For this one, all you need is an empty water bottle, colorful confetti and some ribbons. Next, fill the bottle with water (do not fill it to the top). Add the confetti and ribbons cut into smaller pieces. Also, cut out the number of the year your welcoming and throw it in. the activity is not only fun but the bottle can easily be used as New Year’s Eve décor.

5. Photo Props and Frame

Take colors papers and cut them out into fun props. Make New Year’s Eve with cool and funny pictures using these props and frames which are of course, super easy to make!

9. Bottle shakers

Collect old but clean food containers. The small plastic ones! Fill it with beads, joing two containers together and seal with glue or tape. Decorate with ribbons and ornaments! Your bottle shake is all set to make some noise!

10. Resolution Write Up

Present your kids with a printable resolution card, asking them to pen down their goals for next year and stick it where they can see it every day.
